THE TRUE Y.O.L.O.

Having three major law subjects can be stressful so I wanted to unwind and hang out with people who I haven't seen since I got back from Bicol. Thankfully, after using my charms(JOKE), I got Kuya Jam to say YES and go to Alabang Town Center with me :D
We bought tickets for the "Rock of Ages" movie and me being the person who doesn't expect on anything, I was in for a ride on the way to insanity lane.

The plot was somehow predictable(most of it at least) but the movie was still incredibly entertaining. If vocals of the stars of the movie were to judged, I say that they were SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICALLY AWESOME. I had goosebumps on every musical number. IT WAS THAT GREAT. If it was a question of who stole the show, I would say with no doubt and hesitation, TOM CRUISE.
Tom Cruise as "Stacie Jaxx"
Whoever gave Cruise the part of "Stacie Jaxx," THANK YOU. Tom Cruise made that part into a classic, I believe. I cannot explain how. People need to watch it to understand why I praise him this much.
To everyone else in the cast, I BOW DOWN TO YOU. I was not aware of Julianne Hough's vocal range until I got to see this. Hough and Mary J. Blige's duet was just WOW. I never knew adding a country singer who can reach octaves high with a Grammy-winning R&B artist would give me goosies.
Diego Boneta, YOU ROCKED MY WORLD. I'm hoping to see this guy on top the limelight. May this movie make him a star on his own right. :)
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti and Malin Akerman did not disappoint. In all honesty, they made the movie as great as it is despite having supporting roles.
IF YOU WANNA ROCK, WATCH THIS MOVIE :)

After the movie, the rest of the alumni crew of the Order of the Scarlet Thespians came. We all just sat in Coffee Bean and then on the stairs right in front of Johnny Rockets for hours. Kuya Richard bought a burger and fries in Johnny Rockets but refused to go inside and eat it there and stuck with us at the stairs outside. The employees were laughing at him (and us probably) because they found it weird; and it was, but we didn't care at all. We wanted to hang out there. To hell with you. :)
I accidentally said a bad word to Kuya Earl while we were there. I'M SO SORRY :| Excluding that, time went smoothly. We ate unlimited fries like weirdos, drank tall Taters soda, watched the J.R. employees dance with the tunes from 1980s (I think HAHA) horribly, sat there on the stairs and talked. THAT'S IT. AND I LOVED IT.

I believe that is what YOLO(You Only Live Once) truly means. Going to movies not expecting anything and ending up loving it; hanging out with people who are completely different from your personality but enjoying every minute of it; saying the wrong things and getting a sermon for it; going to the most random places, looking like idiots yet still respectable; THAT IS WHAT, I THINK, YOLO SHOULD BE.

Many interpret YOLO as partying all night, getting drunk and making a fool out of yourself. Like what others say, that is just being stupid and irresponsible. You can act insane once in a while but there should be a limit. Do something worthwhile, not something you will regret. Live life to the fullest and not to your end.

To incoming generations, I beg of you, do not throw away your life. Life on Earth can be harsh and annoying but those are just moments which will bring you to a path where greatness and happiness are. You won't know how near you are if you stop at the middle. Keep going because the ride towards the unknown is like being in a roller coaster going up and down while everyone would laugh and shout; and at the end of the tracks, that sense of relief and joy will take over us.
There will be times when we would feel like we are on top of the world and all of the sudden down to hell; we will laugh until our stomachs ache and then shout to the heavens asking why bad stuff are happening; but as a another day pass, we will sigh and be a little bit happy because the day has passed and another is about to begin and there is hope that life can get better. So stay, and believe.

Paco Park Adventure

Two days ago, a friend of mine invited me to go to our mutual friend's concert recital in Paco Park. Since I didn't have class on that day, my unsung, adventurous soul said yes immediately.

I didn't know what to expect because I have never been around on that part of Manila so I expected, "Oh its park... filled with trees and grass and flowers and what not." I was wrong. Paco Park turned out to be the place I read in my history books during elementary where the Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal, was originally buried. Bravo to the people who were able to maintain that marvelous historical landmark. They made a few changes but my god, it still took my breath away.
Paco Park used to be a cemetery where all the victims of the cholera outbreak were taken to their last destination. When Jose Rizal was killed through firing squad, they dumped his body here and was guarded for days by the Guardia Civil so nobody could dig Rizal's body and give him a proper Catholic burial.

The place had a sad history but that's what drew me in. Thousands and thousands had walked the same spot or path I took as we went around. Many had cried and suffered. My mind could imagine the scenes but not seeing them with my own two eyes made me want more.
The tragic part was the vandalization of some uncivilized creatures. There were writings on the walls and a lot of the headstones, that were left behind after excavating the remains because of God knows what, were colored with markers, crayons and other kinds of coloring materials unknown to my eyes. Another thing to be sad about a sad place with a sad history.

I also got to try some street food before the show started. My dear friend, Ate Abi, and I got hungry and she knew a place not far from the park and so we went. I thought the Supreme Court building was De La Salle University-Main. STUPIDITY. I'M SO SORRY. AHAHAHA
As for the show, the serenity and beauty of Paco Park made the whole thing absolutely perfect. They even sang a Bicol song, "Sarong Banggi/Isang Gabi" but translated it to Tagalog. I didn't mind though, the performance brought back memories back when I was still living in Naga. <3
We were supposed to eat somewhere in Malate or in Magallanes but our "driver" for the day, Kuya Kaka, got lazy and brought us to his house instead. I had no complaints. The barbecue was HUGE and DELICIOUS. It made tummy very happy. :))
Best of it all was the bonding I got to have with the two people who I greatly respect, Kuya Charles "Kaka" Bautista and Ate Abilene "Abi" Rovero. Kuya Kaka was part of the first ever Legal Management batch and former Editor-in-Chief of the college school paper I'm part of. He was one of the people responsible for shaping and making what San Beda College-Alabang is today. I would always hope to meet him and now he is my friend. *FANGIRLING* =)) Ate Abi was the Managing Editor of the college school paper when she graduated. Everyone said that I was sort of a reincarnation of her and I found that as an extreme compliment.

We talked about how everything was when it was their time in San Beda; from their fights and issues until to their misadventures and bondings, they did not hold back. We got home around 3am and I did not regret it even if I had class for Income Taxation at 8am. Sacrificing hours of sleep for that experience was WORTH IT.

Random thoughts

3:07 in the morning
The wind has finally settled down
The rain has stopped
Now the cold breeze is about to come around

I am leaving this sanctuary in a few hours
Will you miss me, my beloved home?
Do take care of Mother
I know her health is not completely better

My sister has been wonderful
She makes this situation a bit more harder
May all blessings come upon her
She deserves it

I sit in silence
As I think of what else to write
So I could seem wise
But I fear that I am not

Its late
I should shut my eyes
But my mind refuses to
Amazing

I will miss this place
I will miss you
You will still be here when I come back
But you will be different, that is why I am sad

Change is the only constant thing in the world
I find this fact annoying
However, fact is fact
The annoyance begins

I am not trying to write a poem
Nor is this an essay of some sort
Invade my subconscious
Maybe we will know

I should get some sleep now
Early morning call
Then again, it is early
At this moment, I think I have become the Mad Hatter

I will rest my head now
Perhaps an incredible dream awaits me
Or a traumatizing nightmare
Lets find out
